WE'LL  GO NO MORE A-ROVING

So, we'll go no more a-roving
  So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart itself must pause to breathe,
  And love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returms too soon,
Yet we'll go no more a-roving
By the light of the moon.

TELL ALL THE TRUTH BUT TELL IT SLANT

Tell all the truth but tell it slant,
Success in circuit lies
Too bright for our infirm delight,
The truth's superb surprise
As lightning to the children eased
With explanation kind.
The truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind.
